I join in with the previously made comments from the colleagues regarding the grade appeal proposal. The proposal raises many issues that are left unexplained: the text is too general and vague, e.g., how to understand the "prejudice" as well as "harassment" under this context, the appeal review at the level of the whole University will be too generic while the presence of third parties may complicate things w/r to a proper review, and so on. Hence, I support VPAA's recommendation w/r to maintaining the standing grade appeals policy of the University.

I agree. I'm particularly not convinced by a need to have a University-level committee; as others have raised, it seems to me that such a committee would be less equipped to deal with appeals compared with the existing college-level procedures.
