Voting members of Academic Council include Deans plus the elected representatives from BCB (3), CHE (2), CSS (3), Law (2), and KSA (2). The Dean of General Education is a voting member, but GE does not have elected faculty members.

The Academic Council Chair is responsible for organizing meetings and overseeing the activities of Academic Council. The AC Chair is elected annually from the elected faculty representatives of Academic Council.
Nominations for Academic Council Chair, 2020-2021, may be submitted here. The Chair will be elected from among nominees who accept the nomination.

Dear colleagues: Please find here two procedural votes. 1) Our colleague on Academic Council, Rustam Atadjanov (Law) has offered to serve as Vice-Chair of Academic Council for this academic year. We have not had other nominations and I appreciate the offer of help, so I ask you please to vote to confirm the appointment. 2) Our colleague from CHE, Karina Narymbetova, previously served on the Curriculum committee and has been nominated to join the committee again this year. I ask you please to vote to confirm adding Karina to the existing membership of the committee.

Please post questions/concerns about thesis topic/supervisor approval here. The motion is to approve the list of thesis topics and supervisors as approved by the colleges. Initial discussion will be open until noon Wednesday 11 November. If there are no pending concerns at that point I will initiate a vote at that time.
This folder contains a spreadsheet with lists of thesis topics and supervisors for all colleges with degree-granting programs as well as a supporting memo from BCB.
