Description of the course
Course Description:
This course is
designed to cover essential topics in International Relations and for students to
learn basic theories and approaches that are used in International Relations as
an academic discipline. We will begin with an overview of history of international
relations and background of the emergence of the discipline. We, then, study key
concepts in IR such as power, security, sovereignty, and governance, and mainstream
theories such as realism, liberalism and constructivism. The course also covers
emerging issues in the contemporary international relations and the impact of globalization
on IR.
