The Creative Workshop is a course designed for students to develop creative projects in communication. The focus of the course will vary depending on student and faculty requirements. This course will focus on the production of television content for an online audience. Students will create content individually and in groups to produce engaging, entertaining, and informative content. Elements of television production including scripting, cinematography, editing, interviewing, and producing. Students will collaborate on the production of content from initial concept to final screening. This course aims to provide an introduction to the fundamental principles of television practice, across fiction and non-fiction content. Students follow the production cycle from idea development, through pre-production, to production/shooting and post-production/editing. Lectures and workshops support practical activities through which students develop a range of basic skills appropriate to each stage in the production process. The course involves a combination of lectures with hands-on practical exercises in and out of class. Students will work independently and in groups to produce content.
